GARDEN SHOW STAND

I was approached to come up with a concept for the PMB Rose Society stand at the 2011 Garden Show. Here are some concept images with the final result.

HOLME LODGE BANNER

FURNITURE

WALLPAPER / CUSHIONDESIGNS

I created these patterns based on what inspires me in my surroundings and to have a bit of fun. The Deliciosa prints are all based on plant images that I have been photographing and manipulating from Delicious Monsters to abstracted banana leaves. They work equall well as wallpaper or printed on cloth. I have digitally printed some sample cushions at 450 x 450 which wil probably retail at about R300-00 per cushion.

The Holme Lodge range was inspired by flowers in my mothers garden and have already been used to make labels for her home-made jam which she uses in her bed and breakfast.

The Marching Mynah range was inspired by those 'pests' that keep life interesting in Durban,

And I couldnt forget the Hadedah!

CZAR CONCEPT

Debra Parkington approached me to help with a concept for Czar Nightclub in Florida Road. This was the concept for the DJ booth - a fractured folded structure using metal and illuminated glass.

This was the concept for a seating area.

HOTEL BEDROOM

This was a test of the lighting capabilities of AutoCAD 2007. It was based on a hotel room we had been working on but with my own preferences. There was no Photoshop gradients used in the final images.

MYNAH WALLPAPER

An attempt at doing a locally inspired wallpaper pattern using the image of a Mynah bird . Im going to explore this more!

SPORTING GOODS EXHIBITION STAND

An ex student approached me to help him get a job in Cape Town with an exhibition company. They had set him a brief which he had to answer. After 2 days of helping him this is what I had come up with. I think I should have got the job instead of him!

CIA OFFICES

My friend Georgie was moving her offices and needed some help with the layout. Above is a space planning proposal for the new premises and below and idea for the reception.

COOK BOOK COVER

My mothers favourite cookbook had lost its cover so I designed a new one that can be replaced if it gets torn again!

JAM LABELS

My mother makes great jam so I designed a few labels for her to stick on the bottles. The roses were photos taken from her garden.

VAN ZYL MOOD BOARD

The Van Zyls were redoing their lounge and dining areas and were looking for some suggestions of what they could do. This mood board shows possible finish choices that would work with their existing and new furniture.

PICTURESQUE FLYER

Nigel has a picture framing business in Cape town and needed some flyers to promote himself. This was an adaptation of what he had already but cleaned up and designed for ease of printing.

CHRISTMAS CARD

Our company PA needed a Christmas card featuring some of her family members. This is what we came up with!

HOLME LODGE BUSINESS CARDS

k
Our family Bed & Breakfast business had run out of cards so I put this together rather quicky!

BEACH FESTIVAL

At the beginning of 2010 I was approached by a consortium of people in the entertainment industry to assist with a proposal for the Beach festival which would run during the Soccer World Cup. They were to control 3 entertainment areas with stages, a craft market and beach soccer venues. The images I came up with were started on a Monday night and complete by Thursday 11 PM! Despite promises of payment, my bank account remained empty and they lost the bid. Still, I did end up with some great images!

The craft market spaces

The main entrance areas took their cues from traditional Zulu forms updated with modern materials.

An opportunity that was sadly lost.

CLASSIC EYES

I did some interior visuals for Vidal Designs. They were revamping Classic Eyes in Gateway. The final product was very similar to the computer images.

Tag Heuer stand-alone display case.

DESIGNING A BUSINESS CARD

DESIGNING A LOGO

OK. Here is my first attempt at a logo for myself - not the easiest task and typography is not my strongest area! Im trying to get variations that can fit into a corporate identity without straying too far away from the core idea.
